I still suspect the gasket, because it seemed like it was shaped to fit inside a groove. Plus the one that I took off was cork. Do I need some type of gasket sealant? Thanks, Al.

You will have to drill and helicoil them, if the gasket was cork someone was there before you. The rubber gasket 0wns!

There was some grit in a couple of the holes, so some of the bolts were difficult to hand tighten. Still, I'm pretty sure they tightened up fine. Is it possible I over-tightened the bolts and bent the pan itself? Or that the gasket moved during tightening and did not seat properly? Just trying to determine what I did wrong so I can avoid it when I work on it again.
